General Duties
Psychology Department Awards Banquet
Theme & Set-up
- Receive a thorough orientation from the preceding Vice-President. Make sure that you have all of the necessary chapter materials to fulfill the duties of your office.
- In the absence of the President, or at the request of the President, perform the President’s duties.
- Serve as the program chair for the chapter: Introduce speakers at meetings and programs. Ensure that all meetings and programs are properly publicized.
- Work with the Faculty Advisor to oversee the nomination and election of chapter officers for the next year.
- Orient your successor and turn over all necessary materials to that person.

Theme & Set-up
- Determine the theme of the banquet
- Plan and buy decorations for the banquet
- Put together a slide show in relation to the theme of the banquet (“time” this so it goes by itself and is looped)
- Set up two – three hours’ worth of music (school appropriate)
- Plan time with committee to set up the banquet the day of
- Contact Panther Copy (Jon Crask, [email protected]) to create invitations
- Take in old version and have him fix the year and date of the event, along with any front picture you want – bring the new cover picture on USB with you.
- Two weeks (give or take) before the banquet hand out invitations during Psi Chi meeting and put them in the psychology office
- Update banquet Excel file as people RSVP
- Coordinate with Dr. Brito about the banquet menu
- Submit the menu online w/ how many potential attendees, table cloths, easels, etc.
- Fill out alcohol form and give to Faculty Advisor for processing. (MAKE SURE THIS GETS BACK TO THE CAMPUS SCHEDULING OFFICE)
